Re: Single plane on this motor?

Coulda fixed that with just the air bags.
Does the same thing. Corrects the lca geometry and right left tire bite. Stops the right rear squat and overload (wheelhop) . Ignition setup and launch method counts too. Most get that wrong too.

You need a very short sticky tire. Based on 3.73"s.

Re: Chevy crane rocker clearance question

a single plane will make more power under boost. Some but not all dual plane may need stagered carb jetting.
It depends.

Re: Single plane on this motor?

Airlift rear air bags help a lot in those cars. Easy 1.6's. Thats solid mid low 11's. Why is it leaving like a snail? carb , ignition setup.... tires?... A single plane will not fix this.. You got setup issues. Not power issues. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll121/abirdpic1988/speedtalkpics/fir...

Re: Chevy crane rocker clearance question

If the roller tip is recessed in the rocker body forks you will not be able to set the valve lash correctly.

if the rocker does walk sideways enough to let the rocker forks touch the valve tip it will chew up the rocker and chew up the valve tips.

The roller looks too small diameter, to me.

Re: Chevy crane rocker clearance question

The rocker you have there looks like a self aligning style rocker. It won't work with a mechanical lifter cam. Only with hyd cams, that run with no valve lash. The conventional non self aligning rocker needs a push rod guide plate to keep it aligned side to side over the valve tip. Those are NOT th...

Re: Chevy crane rocker clearance question

With the right push rod guide plate slot size for the pushrod diameter, if that rocker can still move side to side that much over the valve tip it probably has the wrong stud hole diameter. eg 7/16" instead of 3/8" rocker stud hole. The roller tip diameter looks small. Not crazy on what I ...

Re: Chevy crane rocker clearance question

Unless there is some reason your heads will not allow the use of a "full body" rocker these SUmmit/Scorpion rockers will work very well. http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/sum-g6906/overview/ Scorpion also make the alumunum rockers for Howards Cams. They are very good aluminum roller ro...

Re: Chevy crane rocker clearance question

the oem chrysler magnum head needs the stud conversion to use a chev rockrr. not that familiar with that edelbrock magnum head. It is set up different than oem. But that rocker will not work. on a solid cam. its for hyd cams and self aligning 87+ chevs. (no guideplate) like a chev vortec head. You n...

Re: Chevy crane rocker clearance question

Suggest a Summit Racing #G-6905 (1.5) or G-6906 (1.6) rocker.
Or a Scorpion rocker.

Re: Single plane on this motor?

Your combo is just at the point where a single plane can/ might have a performance advantage at WOT. ( If thats the priority). The only way you will ever know is to test both on your car at the drag strip. Sell the one you don;t want. The single plane would have a even more advantage if you have a 4...
