Re: ford 360 heads
Don't know so am asking?? Are these the old 360 FE Ford V-8 engine heads? Like what we had in one of our old gunning trucks back when I worked for AP Green Refractories, Mexico, MO. I drove a 361 4-speed, 2-speed as well as a 391 5-speed 2-speed truck back then. Both straight trucks with boxes to ca...

Re: -206 BBC heads.
The way I understand this is that the closed heads make a skosh more power, but are dirtier.
And the open heads breath better and are cleaner.
I figure it was an EPA SMOG deal back then that got rid of the closed heads.

Re: -206 BBC heads.
OK then, I have a good pair of -781's in my garage so can I cut them .xxx" to raise the old about 7.9 to 1 CR 454 P/U engines CR to like 9 to 1? I figure from what I read, they should be right at 118 cc's??? A heck of a lot bigger than say 96.7 to 98 cc's that my -206's should be. I want to go ...

Re: -206 BBC heads.
How about a .100" cut??? I want to use the old -206's I have with a mid '70s 454 P/U engine so that i can raise it's shitty low CR so that i can run a half way decent cam to make more power is all. Try to get the 454 up from like 7.9 to 1 CR to maybe 9 to 1 CR?? Nothing fancy here at all, just ...

Re: Are clearances actually tighter now?
Back years ago when I worked at WA Shaeffer Pen, Ft. Madison, IA, an old Master Die Maker showed me that if I knew what I was feeling, that no more than my thumb nail could feel .0002" of an inch. And he had his Starrett mic in his hand with me feeling a .0002" high light on a ball point p...

Re: Rear main seal leak sbc
Did you offset the seal ends like a 1/4"? I always do.
And I also put a small daub of good old Indianhead on each end. Not much, don't want to make a mess sorta deal.

Re: sbc ideal water pump pulley diameter?
Don't our engines run upwards to 220 or so degrees UNDER pressure?? But right, I would run a 160 degree T in the summer and if I remembered to switch it out when it got cold, change coolant and put a 180 degree T in. Oh, and in real cold weather I would close off like 1/4 of my rad. with a piece of ...

Probably shouldn't comment, but don't the newer votec heads flow better, but they aren't, "1st Gen.", design heads?

Re: Notice To Veterans
I was just thinking about preserving myself when the SHTF. I figure that a, "reach out and touch somebody", rifle will be needed. Maybe no more than a .22-250 or a .220 Swift will be needed or else step up to a 30-06... Then be able to lay behind a heavy metal plate so that a, "sniper...
