Re: Bill Mitchell World Products Mopar 446 RB build

What cam core size do you plan to run??
A customer had issues with a world block and cam flex and would loose a couple bearings from time to time.
Went to 60mm cam core and issue was solved.
Not a Hemi block but the RB style block.

Re: Push rods

Just determine the correct length you need and figure that measurement with any preload spec you may need and make a call to Smith Bro.s pushrods in Oregon. They do custom pushrods for less then the off the shelf parts store prices. I use their pushrods for any non standard length and 99% of the tim...

Re: want to buy sunnen bore gage fixtures in metric 0-50mm and 50-150mm

Keep an eye out on the Boeing surplus. They sell off their measuring stuff all the time and they have sunnen in metric. Its not common in the automotive industry in N America but Europe is metric and any measuring devise you get there will be metric. The manufactures in Italy would be a good place t...

Re: WTB: Sunnen SGM-1500 seat & guide machine

You may want tp consider a different machine machine. I was going to buy a new machine in 2007 but missed it by a day and that was the last machine sunnen sold abd settled for a modified VGS 20 they built for me. The best thing may be tp contact the sunnen dealer in Lubbock Texas but they had a mach...

Re: Howards Hydraulic Flat Tappet Lifters - What In The World?

The real issue is shit happens and the QC section is not as diligent as it was 30 years ago. The fact that there is different lifter bodies pictured sends a red flag. I spend the time to disassemble any hyd. lifter and check the check valve is working correctly and there is no unwanted particulate a...

Re: Valve Seat Materials

Personally I prefer the 7000 series durabond seats. They machine well and they stand up to the pounding of race engines with lots of open pressure valve springs.

Re: Baker Engineering Pro Cam, mechanical fuel pump

C+S specialty's had a mechanical pump that provides 15-18 psi.
And they are intended to be run with alky. Edelbrock used to sell a 15 psi pump but the body was weak and it would deform.
\ProCam offers a pump for the same fuel but have never used one.

Re: Howards Hydraulic Flat Tappet Lifters - What In The World?

It seems that it does not matter the brand these days. Most jobber suppliers buy bulk and repackage. Or do private label contracts with the only hyd lifter maker in the US. I have checked 100's of lifters in the last couple years from jobbers and I have returned more then I purchased. But those are ...

Re: No more King XP bearings

I have had less issues with King bearings then any other brand. The XP series tri-metal bearings I have used were the most consistently made compared to other race bearings. There cost compared to others is also much better and their available readily in std -.001 and +.001 making clearance issues e...

Re: 409+ head for BBCs

Some one has developed an LS head for the 4cyl. 3lt marine engine/
They claim more power and less fuel and either carbed or injected.
Anything is possible it just needs enough development time to make it work..................and a big pile of extra cash

They should be .375" top diameter. That is the most common size used today so they is easy to manufacture.
