Re: RB 26/30 turbo chambers.

I don't think 'billet block' and 'economy/emissions' can be applied to these guys in one sentence.

RB 26/30 turbo chambers.

Just ran across this topic researching something else. Is this practice accepted or a way to sell bs....removing quench pads and redoing chamber via cnc. Sometimes I get the impression that if the modification doesn't hurt performance it can be spun as if it increased it- is this a flavour or does i...

I always try to do my due diligence- but it doesn't seem to matter.

Re: Stop-start engines: durability & wear pattern trends?

We have a new batch of Ford work trucks, mostly hwy driven but occasionally have meetings in the city. The ONLY thing that bothers me is that eventually that starter WILL fail (its a Phord after all), in the city, in rush hour at a light.

Re: More top end

Scat crank is cheap- my vote 383. In my truck I was talked out of it years ago- wish I would have stuck to my opinion, torque rules with 6000lbs. TPI/3.73, 700r4- really moves out on the hwy.

Re: An awesome design and look from Cadillac!

Is Cadillac still their own division- or is this a GM Powertrain effort? As high tech as Cadillac wants to be- and not an owner myself but as the miles piled on didn't they really have shortcomings, Northstar head bolts or gaskets.

I wouldn't discount engine management in this package. I think it adds to what service mileage these engines are getting.

Re: Ported Chevy 083 heads, the tpi project

I just hated the TB that came with the FIRST- modified my plenum to use the OEM fuel rails and TB, don't know why FIRST had to totally reinvent that aspect since BIG aftermarket TB's were readily available.

Re: Head selection for low rpm 87 octane build

On my 383 sbc w AFR vortec, 9.5:1 TPI...I still need to tune for 87, from what I can see it will work well...eventually- need some fast burn Ford heads--pay for a good chamber.

Re: EQ Head ?????

This cam has a very smooth idle- your right the lope thing is a beautiful sound- none here. These are some cams I was thinking about at the time. If you were to pick a quality manufacturer and catalogue cam- what would you pick, Isky seems to have some fans. Old Flowtech cam in a 355 I still have: P...

Re: EQ Head ?????

I wanted a cam that was easy on the valvetrain- this is a Erson cam and to be fair they wanted to sell me a bigger cam and I got scared-- I mean my attitude was/is..... who has been disappointed from picking a smallish cam as opposed to too big, perhaps the suggested 'big' cam wasn't big at all ('gi...
