Re: Show us your Race Car(s)

Not mine but have around 1000 hours of work into the project. Current record holder A/BGALT (blown gas altered coupe) 273mph. We'd like to go over 300mph with it. At the bottom is a video of our shake down runs in 2012 where we were fortunate enough to set the record. 2013 we broke a trans and didn...

Re: Timing moves around all by it self

Joe this last cleveland we dynoed did exact same. Brand new dist out of box. I have seen a bit of thos with high volume pumps on fords but nothing this bad. Even at higher rpm we seen the timing bounce a bit after the dist advance is obviously pegged.I talked with a few other guys and they are movin...

Did he check engine sitting still? A small dent in driveshaft can cause exactly what your talking about. Rule out drive train.

Re: How Hard Does An Aluminum Block Need To Be?

I would think you need both. However you cannot have tensile strength without a specific hardness. A soft block will move even with gyrating forces. This is even evident in cast blocks as you push the hp envelope. Why do block mfgs add cast or material to strengthen these areas. I would think most af...

Re: 8.1 inch rod in stock block/stroke 350 and -----

David i have seen something like this in oil and gas industry where half of v8 runs the engine and the other bank four rods like shown run a compressor built on top of bank. Most of the ones ive seen are built off ford 460. This may not be it but have seen setups similar. The top of one bank incorpo...

4v Cleveland in truck

Here is a plate for using existing headers made for 400 or 351m engines and 4v heads. As you know the headers only come in 2v exh. We have dynoed the headers and they allow for good tq down low. This plate fits between the header to get a better seal.Sanderson does make a shorty style.

Re: Looking for a few tips on porting 351c 4v heads

The Cleveland head and the exh have been the topic of many forums. It is interesting to hear the many different views on what seems to be a lazy flowing exh number. Ive heard everything from changing to hi-port to leave it mostly alone. There has to be a engineer or two still alive that worked on th...
