Re: Coated Clevites for BB Chevy

Hi, Carl.

This might be interesting. I have to think it over since I've only been doing 302W's.... However. A 351W might be something for the future....

You're in the US? I'll figure out how much in postage and get back to you.

Re: Interesting Carb vs EFI Dyno Comparison

Question for those well versed in carburetors. Would you pick a carb setup that used individual throttle bores for each cylinder if cost, rules and fitment were not an issue over a single/dual carb plenum intake? Basically the equivalent of IR fuel injection. Even if a set of correct bore carbs cou...

Re: Remember using a Cleveland crank in a Windsor?

So, let's not hear any sniveling you can't reach like the guys with the shorter cams and taller gears. jack vines Yeah, well- I know, I know. However- I was hoping going EFI would make it "streetable" (at an economic level) even with a steep cam. And I think with careful injector timing c...

Re: Remember using a Cleveland crank in a Windsor?

Combo sounds tempting... BigJoe et.al. used a 347 2.1" rod crank ground off center and 2.00" big end rods to get 3.5" stroke in 8.200 block, and that might be an equally "cheap" way to big cubes? However, the rods has to be special ordered, I suppose. On the 331/347 question...

Re: EFI geeks; help me out pliiiiiiiiiiiiz.....

Haven't come aacross any misfire or nothing strange going on, ever- besides the car jumping around in this area. I'll try to back up the timing today and see if I can get something going. However- the weather is so nice that I'd better go fishing or hiking to enjoy these last warm & nice days of...

Re: EFI geeks; help me out pliiiiiiiiiiiiz.....

Barbapappa; the value called LOAD that's roughly the same as MAP. Manifold pressure / barometric pressure * manifold pressure? While logging MAP is shows same number +/-1, approx. I have also logged MAP AE which tell me how much fuel is added with map changes: 0.00% steady.... I have set it low to b...

Re: EFI geeks; help me out pliiiiiiiiiiiiz.....

Throttle follower is 10 from TPS 0 to 7 Not into idle, because then TPS has to be 1 or less. Barbapappa; what do you mean by this: "Do you have options for TPS based at certain conditions to tackle this area without tuning everything from scratch?" ? Not fun, not fun.... But I know I'll be...

Re: EFI geeks; help me out pliiiiiiiiiiiiz.....

Interesting you mention the fuel tank, Vette... I did a long trip last weekend: 13mpg and AF around 14.5 (and even leaner...) in cruising area. I've moved the timing under load=30 to 27- 37 degrees to act like the vacum advance. But I might shuold have gone all the way up to 40 or 50 load. This cont...

Re: EFI geeks; help me out pliiiiiiiiiiiiz.....

Thanks. Heard of the buick- community- will check. I have logged map and TPS change/ enritchment. Not happening. I know from carb and dist tuning that the timing set wrong can cause engine "hunting"- a bit like what I see here. Now you've given me some hope on fixing this trying timing trim...

EFI geeks; help me out pliiiiiiiiiiiiz.....

I*ll sum up the problem I cannot seem to find a solution to... SBF, 347, 10.7:1, Vic jr heads (2.02/ 1.6 valve), "log" type manifold (11" runners), 13/4" medium length tri Y's, something like 249/ 254 duration, 0.624/ 0.640 lift at the valve 110 LSA, alu flywheel, leightweight RA...

Re: Wolverine CS640 cam for 2.8V6- info?

"That is the lobe centerlines are for each as indicated. The LSA is 111 degrees." Doesn't this show how bad my cam- math is.... Tried to do some thinking, 114-108= 6 deg LSA...... There's something wrong. Inlet centerline108 deg ATDC exhaust centerline 114 deg BTDC. Gives 222 CRANK degrees...
