Hydraulic Roller Lifters, Oil Pressure
Does anybody have published specifications regarding typical hydraulic roller lifter oil pressure requirements? I realize they vary by type and intended application, but I'm just looking for typical Chevy LS-type replacement lifters with .842 x .700 wheels. Years ago, I had white papers from Delphi,...

Re: Fun with a L69 305 84 Z28
I have done something very similar to what you wanted years ago. I had a 1985 El Camino that I wanted to look 100% OEM in California, retain emission equipment, and have a smooth stock-type idle. All of this with available OEM castings, nothing aftermarket. I just wanted more skoot with better than ...

Old Mercedes 6-cylinder blocks were harder than regular cast iron; I bored them back in the day.

Re: Centistoke oil rating
There are many good oils that fall into this category and offer multi viscosity protection such as 15/w40 for example. Probably most relevant for street cars that are subjected to cold weather.

Re: Top end oiling issue after hydraulic roller change.
Problems with the lifter feed happens when the oil fill band does not match the feed passage. I have grooved some lifter bands to aid / add to the feed time the passage is exposed to pressure.

Re: 4 cylinder carb intake.
Of course individual runner and weber DCOE would be nice but back in the day this setup helped me take a 2 liter pinto up to 175rwhp while still being streetable. Norris cam and Valley Head Services help on the heads. The falcon holley carbs were very crude but the torque output was a huge jump over...

I grind a groove midway on the id and heat to 150 then use a slide hammer and an internal jaw puller to get them out clean.

PipeMax Help Pipe Choices
I work on primarily Harleys and most of them have a 2 into 1 stepped header with merge style collector into a single baffled muffler, straight through. Can someone lead me to the proper choice for pipe type? TIA

Re: Lawn mower carb on a v8 41mpg
Did something similar when I was a kid to get Hilborne to work on the street. Idle and off idle were with a small engine carb and small feed tubing then the main pump feed and injectors came on.
