Re: Other hobbies

shot a wild boar on sunday evening. Was pretty exciting. I have a bait out and there was 2 elk standing at it, They ran when i showed up. I snorted a couple times and this pig stands up in the tall grass about 20 yards behind me and starts trotting towards the bait. I swung around and he sees me and...

Re: 454 engine stumble

Also check that the arm that pushes on the accel pump is adjusted properly. If its to tight some of the volume of the squirter may allready be used up before you step on the gas.

Re: Can I get to 10.0 with new combo?

10.0 is hard to get to for me as well. Need a money tree. I'd go fiberglass bumpers and hood. Maybe a tubular rad support. Thats should shave some good weight. Does it have a fuel cell? Or a sumped tank? Do you have any video of it?

Re: Can I get to 10.0 with new combo?

Did you have the old combo on a dyno? The car seems heavy. I have a g-body 81 malibu with a Big block and its lighter than that. My block is a big M so its even heavier than a normal BB. 3300 with me in it. You should be able to get down to 3000 pounds. Also if you are having traction issues a cam o...

186 SBC heads

i have 2 old school #186 sbc heads for sale. The problem is they are not a matched pair. One is a factory 2.02 head with some porting and the other is a 1.94 head that looks untouched. The 2.02 head is bare and the 1.94 head is assembled. Both need everything. Will sell for $200 US plus shipping. Br...

Re: Peanut Port Drag Test

I always like to see cars that basically go about the same as mine but with half as good as parts. Either you really know what you are doing, or i am clueless!! Probably both are true.

I think its neat what you are doing. I have 3 sets of peanut ports sitting in the corner. Makes me want to do something with them!

Re: BBC Camshaft LSA question

I'm making some big changes to my combo this winter. I sold my turbo 350 and my trans specialties 3500 convertor. Got a good price so i ordered up a ATI convertor and a turbo spline input shaft for a glide. Bought a V8 glide core and am gonna build it up. The new ATI convertor is supposed to flash t...

Re: BBC Camshaft LSA question

Is there a way to link a video from face book to here? My last race of the year went down last night. It was awesome. I lost but it was still awesome!! Got a couple cool videos.

more cam questions

How do these 3 things effect cranking pressure?

1 - the size of the split between intake and exhaust duration at .050
2 - Intake center line
3 - advance that is ground into the cam

Also what is to be gained by 4/7 swap?

thanks

Re: dist Cam gears

So if i'm running a bronze or composite gear on my distributor is it worth paying extra to get a everwear gear on my cam? The reason i'm asking is that being in Canada everything i buy out of the states costs half again as much as the US dollar price when you include the shipping, tax, and exchange ...

dist Cam gears

whats the best way to buy a billet BBC roller cam for a street / strip motor ? With an everwear gear? or skip the everwear gear and just use a bronze or composite gear on the distributor? I've always payed extra and got the everwear gear and then run a bronze gear on it anyways. That is probably a w...
