Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell
Hey Scott, out of the SBC manifolds you've done, what do you think has the longest runners and smallest csa, assuming one has both?

Re: Regrind Cam Larger?
My 406 SBC build has changed and I now have a homeless, expensive cam. I've got a backburnered 383 I may be able to use it in but it's not quite right. My question is, is it possible to have a cam reground to make it larger and wider? This one's got an LS firing order swap so I don't know how much ...

Re: Regrind Cam Larger?
RevTheory, What lines are you thinking along to think you need more Duration for less C. I.' s and Less Bore to Stroke Ratio ? tell more about both Engines and the vehicle the engine will power . Mark H. The 406 was for my K10 truck with 35 x 14.5 tires and O/D and the 383 is for a C3 Corvette with...

Re: Twin Turbo Help
Next question; I've already got a forged crank in the cart as that SCAT 9000 isn't going to cut it but will their (SCAT) Pro-Comp rods with 7/16th cap screws be safe if I keep the redline ~6,000 rpm? I've read a bunch on here and BigJoe was talking about 800 hp @ 8,000 rpm and several dirt track guy...

Re: Twin Turbo Help
I really thought that up/forward-mount turbo headers for a small block Chevy would be all over the place but everything seems pretty cheesy. Maybe Professor Google isn't the best place to look but I don't know where else to look.

Re: Twin Turbo Help
These were just recommended to work with the headers I linked above. Any thoughts?

Re: Twin Turbo Help
I'd do whatever you would do for the same engine n/a. Depending on n/a power and available bend radius you might even get away with smaller off the head. I wouldn't go larger. What style of manifold are you going to run? Heavy duty "steam pipe" buttweld fittings? Normal exhaust stuff with...

Re: Twin Turbo Help
I'm making some progress on things. I'm thinking I should stick with 1 5/8ths primaries on the headers, right?

Re: Twin Turbo Help
Thanks for that. Lot's to digest... That Garrett looks pretty trick but it's out of my budget. I don't want to get myself in a position of having to have the latest-and-greatest and end up with a budget that prevents me from going forward. I finally have the money to actually do this if I don't get ...

https://turbo4less.com/product/vsr-next-gen-62-62-billet-copy/ Something like these little 62’s or so would work Being completely unfamiliar with all the jargon, I'm already starting to go cross-eyed with all the .57 and a/r this and a/r that, lol. I could sure use any help you can offer. Total new...

Re: Twin Turbo Help
I do want reactive turbos, though. I really dislike a lengthy lag. With 406cid, 9.25:1 compression, and a 224/224 cam, you will have more low-end power then you can use. A little light on duration, I take it? I think I'd like to push the rpm up to 6k but probably no more than that with my SCAT Pro ...

Re: Twin Turbo Help
Aren't T04's pretty ancient tech compared to what's available now? Personally I'd like to see more twin scroll twin turbo setups. It would be more work for manifolding (and probably nothing off the shelf) but it's worth a bit in response and detonation resistance. He's looking at making 750hp with ...

Re: Twin Turbo Help
What's a "T3/T4 Hybrid"? I keep running across that. Skinny, the n/a cam for the 406 that's sitting in the garage is 283/289 adv. duration, 227/233 at .050, .375 lobe lift on both sides on a 106 with an LS firing order. My off-the-cuff thoughts on a turbo cam for this was 224/224 on a 112 ...
