How much hp will 3/8 npt inlet reg support?

Motor just dynod at 714hp. I have a 3/8 in, and 3/8 out npt aeromotive regulator. I was just wondering if that will be enough? I have a magnafuel 500 pump with the aeromotive reg and -8 lines to carb. bought a cheap professional, 1/2 in npt, but it just sits and bounces all over, i cant seem to get ...

Header ? for anyone with a dyno

I have an early 70 mustang. Engine is a 427 windsor with 2" headers for the high port heads. I remember last time dynoing a motor and no one had dyno headers bigger than 1 5/8. Is there a minimum distance between the header collectors that will fit around the dyno itself?? I measure 15" be...

Re: Plug gaps and air fuel ratio

No. A very lean mixture will NEED a smaller gap. I had a hell of a lean custom carb brand new from pro systems. It was so lean, it wouldn't run over 2500! Kept thinking it was ignition. Got down to making the gap smaller and it would go higher and run much better. The smaller the gap and the better ...

How much valve lift loss is acceptable from rockers??

Measured lobe lift and I get pretty much exactly what cam card says. Within a couple thousandths' Cam card says .446 and .418 lobe lift 1.7 rocker ratio on shaft rockers When I measure actual valve lift, I get on intake: .751 or so within a couple, but on exhaust, I am getting between .675 and .683....

Re: Need help on setting rocker shaft sweep pattern

Building a dart blocked 427 ford with highport heads and lgm shaft rockers. I took an old retainer and welded on a small block of 1018 with a hole that will mount an indicator. tapped a hole for a setscrew. put the retainer on so the indicator tip is right on the rocker roller, following it through...

Re: Have weird wideband and vacuum readings. Very rich.

Thanks guys. So I put 78's back in and it definately cleans it up. I can get pretty normal part throttle cruise afr's. But then it actually almost lean miss when going to half throttle just before the secondaries open. So the whole rest of the primary circuit is just lean. And wide open it is still ...

Re: Have weird wideband and vacuum readings. Very rich.

Do you think it could just be getting too much of a shot of fuel from the accelerator pump causing it to go rich for that brief period during off idle acceleration? It does seem strange that it does the same thing with two different carburetors though. No, at idle, it is good. 13.0 or so. If you HO...

When you say transition, how and what exactly do you adjust this? Oh yea, fuel pressure at 7, tried level just below, right at and just above the sight glass. Sure appreciate the help.

Got a problem. 408 windsor with vic jr heads, solid roller CI cam 1 3/4 headers. Fuel system is a very good aeromotive pump and regulator with -8 line. Pro systems 950 hp. with 82 and 92 jets with a 6.5 p/v. I HAD a victor junior on and everything was fine. I just changed the intake to a super victo...

Re: How much is tooo much jet??

I have a good aeromotive pump with their regulator, -8 braided line. Timing is right on. Fuel pressure is always at 7-7.5. Fuel bowls have the clear plastic sight glasses. Just so you can barely see the fuel. Problem was never there before the intake change. At the same time though, I had a problem ...
