“All your base are belong to us” isn’t what comes out anymore, but it’s still internet consensus nonsense in terms of the logic.

Re: Any experience with AMG M177 LS2 S Model engine?

ok since we are dealing with a highly develped intercooler setup why not use the laughing gas to further cool the intercooler, just tossing ideas Water meth (or windshield wiper fluid) manifold injection kits exist. There’s also a trunk water reservoir kit for the intercooler coolant circuit. One co...

Re: Any experience with AMG M177 LS2 S Model engine?

The 180 degree exhaust blowdown interference is a non-factor at high rpm’s where power is made. Therefore, I wouldn’t want to touch the exhaust manifolds. However, if one were dead set to get 360 exhaust pulses, then one should keep the exhaust manifolds and swap the M177 under them to the flat plan...

Re: Any experience with AMG M177 LS2 S Model engine?

So maybe I missed something and this particular engine couldn't benefit from Nitrous Oxide? The key things I was looking at was fun and lowering resale value. It’s going to be difficult to integrate nitrous to the factory control system that measures everything and adjusts it to meet certain goals ...

Re: should peak cylinder pressure always occur at 14 degrees ATDC?

The big thing with gasoline engines is whether the engine is octane limited or not. Optimization accommodates the knock constraint fairly dramatically which moves the peak pressure timing and also completely reshapes the pressure curve.

Re: Any experience with AMG M177 LS2 S Model engine?

This engine is the peak of internal combustion engine design, possibly the forever ATH. There's an unconventional twin-scroll manifold that leaves in the 180-degree exhaust blowdown interference (bad), eliminates the 90-degree exhaust blowdown interference (good), and keeps the manifold volume very ...

They didn't have much for twin-scroll LS2 version of M177. Weistec looks like the most promising option.

I don't understand, why would nitrous be "easy" with this engine? Please elaborate.

Can you ask the chatgpt version you’re using which gsx-r750 l1 aftermarket exhaust makes the most peak power on a dyno?

Re: Overscavenge

I believe that the exhaust must be held open until the piston starts expanding the combustion chamber enough to take over the pull. Compression ratio and rpm will be a part of this expansion too. If the exhaust closes before the piston pulls enough the intake flow will start, stop and start over. I...

Any experience with AMG M177 LS2 S Model engine?

I'm bored and since my skiwagon is now out of warranty I am going to make it less valuable. The car is 2018 AMG E63S Wagon and the engine in it is M177 LS2 S Model. Any pointers on how to have fun burning money while lowering the resale value? Some technical data: https://wright-company.net/wp-conte...

Re: Overscavenge

When I played with early exhaust opening in simulation it made far less difference than I thought, especially to primary length. I thought maybe more exhaust duration would work better with primary tubes that were too long, but, I found it did not significantly help from that angle. Counter intuiti...

Re: Overscavenge

My opinion is that if your exhaust cam is small and the exhaust header primary is small diameter and long, you want to open the exhaust valve earlier by advancing the exhaust cam. This is because opening the exhaust valve earlier when there’s still higher pressure in the cylinder helps move more mas...
