Re: Merry Christmas

Hiya, I had one of the greatest Christmas weeks ever. Even dinner with my kiddo's and grandkiddo's all together. After visiting at the casa, Applebees is a bit void, we went and I encouraged everyone to just order anything. I am pretty sure we ended up ordering EVERYTHING on the menu and just potluc...

Re: Question for the professinal carb dominator guys

Hiya's, Project is 4 1150's on two 750 cu in PSI blown engines. The customer would like a bit slower linkage than the standard "soft" progressive. Does anyone make a softer progressive or do I have to make it? Yuck. Holley used to have a regular progressive internal linkage which went to ...

Re: Question for the professinal carb dominator guys

Wait just a minute... so the boat surges when put into gear, without touching the throttles, and you think that the fix will be a different secondary cam inside the carbs? And *I'M* the dumbass who obviously has never worked on expensive high-end stuff like you do? Man, sometimes, this place just.....

Re: Question for the professinal carb dominator guys

The throttle sensitivity with a pair of carbs on a T-ram is a matter of the arrangement of the lever angles to reduce movement of the carb levers in the just off idle range. Essentially, the levers on the cross shaft need to point nearly in line with the rod to the levers on the carb. With the pull...

Re: Question for the professinal carb dominator guys

So it's opening the secondaries during docking maneuvers? If it's not, different secondary linkage won't help. If it's just too sensitive, it needs a redesign of the cable hookup points and/or helm. Something like a rising rate cam/bellcrank somethingorother to desensitize the first ~30% of the cab...

Re: Question for the professinal carb dominator guys

Hiya Tuner, thanks for the reply. Yes, customer says it's too sensitive. Screw blowers don't like to be in boost at light throttle, very prone to overheating the rotors along with high intake air temps. Soooo, I also worry if I make the throttle too progressive, I might seize the rotors. I'll be mon...

Re: moly top ring and boost?

Hiya's again,
I have no problems using moly rings, OP was a bit worried so I posted a tiny feedback. Shoot, many top fuel teams are running plasma moly tops again.

Re: moly top ring and boost?

Hiya,
You've answered your own question, can't control the driver, conditions or octane. Use a stainless top if you are serious, yes it induces more cylinder wear but it will be there when the guys brings it back because he broke something else.

Yes, Erland.
Crossflow Toyota's suffered with that especially when fuel was not homogenized well.

Re: Single Central Spark Plug In A Two Valve Combustion Chamber

Hiya,
Do you think top fuel engines have a start/release function in their dual plug at 10,000+ hp. It's a redundancy. Sometimes it can use two or more kernels. Rotary's have taken advantage of that with pump gas for years.
