Re: Comp Cams DLC Hydraulic Flat Tappet Lifters

In the lifter section Comp claims US made lifters, did this change are just false advertisement? https://www.compcams.com/pub/media/wysiwyg/CompCams/FlatTappetCamTechBulletin.pdf Us made does not mean what it once did. Could be quality checked, and packaged here and by law they are allowed to say i...

It's so old it has flat head bowl screws, and the extra throttle arm support stud threaded into the main body. The metering block is the primary side has these numbers (7049 4781 shown in the picture.) Below tha...

Re: 4150 zinc metering block repair.

It's got a pretty good leak in the accelerator pump channel. Any reason why jb weld wouldn't work to epoxy the hole shut? Or can it be soldered? I have a small reamer to clean the channel out once repaired. Advice, suggestions, comments? What's the block for? I have a lot of them in a box someplace...

Re: Rocker Arms: Steel vs Aluminium

GM used them oe in the LT series, not sure which one- Crane. Well, there's another one then. This is why I asked the question. Inquiring minds want to know. Further to that, there's another thread here which revolves around much the same topic. I offered my two cent opinion and figured I would ask ...

Kinda sad to see stuff like this. Let's just hope we can all make it to such a ripe old age and contribute half as much as he has to motorsports in our own lives. Being the sole caretaker of my father and watching his mind and body deteriorate daily has given me a different perspective on it. He (D...

Re: Electric Exhaust Cutout Pro & Con's

And they're illegal in some (most?) places. They beg the question: Do you tune the engine for the low-back-pressure "open" operation, or do you tune for the 95% of the time when the cutouts are closed? phase of childhood. To add to what you just said say you tune for it closed at low rpm ...

It has been expressed to me that if the engine was plateau honed, the rings will be worn in within seconds. Not sure if thi...
