Re: LS1 Running hot
I shut it off around 215, it seems to keep creeping up I’m thinking maybe an air pocket? Would that cause a flow problem? I’m going to try and see if I can’t purge the air. Come to think of it I have never ran it without a radiator cap if that matters. Just looking at the hose from the radiator to t...

Re: EFI: MPFI vs TBI on ls1
HDPE, is basically just getting on the track with other cars, usually have to point by unless you're at the upper levels. Something you could take your stock corvette or porsche to. Thats what I'm planning on doing, no classes besides personal satisfaction For racing down the road, almost better off...

Re: EFI: MPFI vs TBI on ls1
I'm guessin this motor should be around 450-500 hp, up to 6500 rpms for now until i get shaft rockers I'll just be doing HDPE for the time being, no racing yet so no set rules for EFI. Sebring raceway will be the main track and will be running about 30-45 mins at a time I was kind of looking for the...

EFI: MPFI vs TBI on ls1
I'm building a LS1 for road race, 5.7L with a jones cam thats around .650/.650 and 250/254 @.050 110LSA, with super victor and dry sump I'm looking at the edelbrock MPFI with tunnel ram, or putting a holley sniper TBI on my current intake and using the MSD ignition, im leaning towards the holley sni...

I’m guessing this is probably why certain oils make duramaxes have a ticking noise

Re: Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI, oval port BBC, Victor Jr style oval intake or Hi-ram square port?
Part of my reasoning for wanting this is that I have an old Yorker intake that meets the heads at a 45 angle. I figured this could use an upgrade and I also wanted to change the distributor out from one of the cheap Chinese ones. I’ll order the oval port one and use the carb on another project Now t...

Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI, oval port BBC, Victor Jr style oval intake or Hi-ram square port?
I'm looking at this efi system for my truck so I can take it on rocks and trails without the carb stalling, its a 468 BBC about 10.5:1 with around 230/240 cam and .600 lift. 112 LSA if I remember correctly I have 781 heads, would it be worth while to try and get the hi ram intake, even though it is ...

Re: Worth while to salvage these LS1 heads?
They are the 862 5.3 truck heads
The cam is .650 lift
These heads seem pretty decent

Worth while to salvage these LS1 heads?
Long story short, I bought some used heads thinking they would work and save some money and it's probably going to end up costing me more in the end than some new properly set up heads I'm building 5.7 3.9" bore LS1 solid roller with a dry sump to go road racing. I sent the attached flow sheet ...
