The Crower engine had tubes bored into the intake bowls and brazed. THe predecesor to the Gaerte midget head.

Thats some rig you got there. But here goes Int. 260@.020" 228@.050" .500 valve lift 102* intake centerline Exh. 240@.020 208@.050" .410 valve lift 103* exh centerline.

Not sure smoke gives a good handle on the different densities of air and fuel. I do think results qualify testing methods.
If goals are being met testing works, if your goals aren't being met your testing methods need to change.

Why are we debating whats done. We did our testing, we have goals we'll be happy with. If we get there, we did our job.
There are other things at play. Squish to bore ratio, chamber shapes that help reduce pumping losses etc.. It will be tested and I'm sure the results will be posted.

I have seen double peak or camel hump torque curves before. What I don't ever remember seeing is only a 100 RPM spread between peak torque and peak HP. Can anyone explain to me what may cause this? Stan They usually dont. The camshaft and cylinder head the engine has it may have another peak in it ...

The journal reduction is about a .5lb weight loss. 5 lb difference in cranks with the rod journals the same size.
