Re: .i am using a MSD distributor with adjustable slip collar
If the motor is out of car, take the oil galley plug out of rear of block and line the distributor shaft properly. If you can’t do that, loosen the slip collar, install the distributor, let the distributor sit down as far as it can, then raise it about 40-60 thou and tighten the slip collar. Also, t...

1st thing I’d do is check the balance of the torque converter if it’s the same one hes used all along.

Valves will be fine.
Cam will be fine if you’re happy with 400HP
Don’t need a 6” rod
If you want to be fussy get the heads pocket ported.

Re: to fast over SSR
Definitely on the right track! From pics it looks like the finish on port is a bit bumpy. If that’s the case it may benefit from some time with a 60 grit cartridge roll. Other than that I’d call the intake port done. The intake manifold is going to hold it back. I use a team g also. Off memory I thi...

Re: to fast over SSR
1.8 prp will give peak power at 6000rpm. You can probably widen the prp a tad without losing performance. Take 1mm off the wall beside the pushrod and retest. It won’t really harm your airspeeds but I’m picking that’s where the restriction is. If you do just the port you are testing if it’s a step b...

Post a pic of ssr profile as it is now.
I’m thinking you have turbulence.
I’ll have a look and find the tracing I made of factory ssr profile.

Re: Headers, are mandrel bends necessary ?
Mandrel bends generally look nicer but they're not essential.
Exhaust gas comes out under such pressure that little dents don't matter either.

Re: 355 camshaft hydraulic roller recommendation
Low to mid 220's @ 0.050 intake.
5-10* more on exhaust, depending on flow %'s
110-112 Lobe separation, 112 will be best for air con and brakes.
The specs the others have given are enough for 500+hp peaking at 6000+ rpm.

I gave mine about 1/2 dozen.
They were still 80lb so I don't think I'll even bother next time.
