I had solid ft that was
500lift 230@.050 on a 107 cl installed 104. Really liked it. Building a similar motor but going a way from a flat tappet to a solid roller. What would the specs be on a roller to give a similar power band.

Re: Summit CT-101 / Elgin 1091p
Years ago we raced in a class with that cam and vortex heads. Made over 500hp on a 350. Had a custom cam ground just for our motor. It might have made 5hp more . Going to shaft rockers netted more hp

Re: Pertronix ignitor.
I'm sure somebody with more knowledge that me with will answer but I've thought about coming off the battery Wire on the alternator to a relay. Switch the relay with the key switch. Then you have a short wire from the highest voltage source powering the ignition.

Re: Most aerodynamic Muscle Cars?
Came across of a picture of a 1969 corvair. With the closed off grill and flatter front bumper. If you could lower the nose about 8 inches it might not be bad. Though it was ironic "unsafe at any speed" would be a stable high speed platform.

E85? . I would go 3.48 to keep c/r reasonable. If it has a big enough tire and the best passing is coming off a slow corner a 406 might be hard to beat . Just to be different, a stock block 350 with lite wieght parts will be about 50lbs liter than a 406.

351w crank specs
The crank mics at2.9991 on the mains, 2.3100 on rods. Trying to get an ideal on clearances to see if itneeds to be turned. I'm a chevy guys so I don't have any bearings to check it and I'm not finding any clevite H bearing offered in .001 tighter. Anybody want to take a guess on what the clearances ...

Lol true. I'm putting an offy crossram on a 350 sbc with a date code of 2 6 69. What HSB do I need, is more realistic for ST

Sbc piont dist.
Wanting to keep the small pionts dist. because of period correctness. With all the talk of slew rate and timing curves. What is the best system to eliminate the pionts. I would like to keep it inside the dist. With no external spark box but I'm not ruling that out. 400hp sbc

So a standard volume shark tooth oil pump is a step in the right direction.

I have a similar motor in a 64 chevy. I liked the performer better than the RPM because of off idle torque. It has a Howard's hydraulic roller 217 @.050 on a 110 l/c

Re: Main bearing spacers and oil clearance questions
You will see a trend to sbc oval track guys will be on the tight side, BBC drag guys on the loose side. When you are measuring to .0005 and less your tool calibration and how you use them comes in to play. You have to find the combination that works for you.

He is probably running such small rings the 2 pcs design ot a gapless ring won't enough mass to handle the stress. If you have a piston with a wide ring is when I run gapless rings. Top ring only.

Re: HEI pulling timing. Any solutions?
Have you observed with a timing light your car retarding timing at high rpm. Many sbc hei will advance timing at higher rpm . Mostly due to excessive clearances. I have observed on the dyno many engines are not sensitive to timing retard at high rpm
