Hiya,
Still, a 2' plenum spacer will add some top end.
Good job broski,
Yeah, I made a 1" spacer, I was worried more plenum would hurt signal too much, but that was unfounded, thing is wicked crisp on the throttle.
Maybe later!
The tq dip at 5600rpm is due to it going a bit rich through there, carbs don't have screw in bleeds, they're old school 1050's. It held .90-.91 lambda through most of the pull, but dipped to .88 lambda through there, likely that's where the runner length is perfect & it's pulling hard so signal ...
Is there a chance the intake tract may be too long? I can't stop looking at the length of number 1 on those dyno headers, I realise it's to fit a chassis but no header builder would ever take that route if they were trying to get some similarity in lengths. No doubt Darin Morgan's rusty header inte...
Dyno'd this yesterday. Needs more cam, a lot more cam! But as it sits we're up a significant amount & only turning 200rpm higher, it'll stay as is till freshen time, it'll take some fiddling to get the boat capable of using what it's got now anyway. Graph is comparison with the old 489. We're sa...
Hiya, nice short side width on those radius, ya might want to re-think those cam specs... noticed the nice tulip exhaust valves. Would you be willing for a cam change on the dyno. I'll check with my guys and see if I can get you one in time. I'm thinking .450"in .430"ex lobe 1.7 rocker an...

Whenever a head/s with 11/32 stems need guides & valves I'll switch them over to 5/16 or 8mm if I can get suitable valves.
It's a no brainer, less weight, smaller stem getting in the way of flow etc.
If you don’t mind me asking, what are you using for cam thrust? For some years I used the water pump that we use on these v-drive boats, but my last one I used a stepped nose cam with the thrust plate. I am open to new ideas as I have heard a few good ones. It looks good. I can’t wait to hear how i...
