Ti dirtbike valves have to be coated. Dirt gets through filters and wears valves Ah,good point. I would be similar. I will definitely run CrN coated. Are these engines running some kind of accessories or pumps off the snout of the crank or cam? I ask, because some have stated that certain applications get by without a crankshaft damper because the accessories or pumps offer some damping abilities. If the piston you want to uses is an existing motorcycle piston don't expect too much material avaliable for removal

Well I had a very detailed response and lost it. I took 8lbs off of a jawa speedway crank and had to rebalance it So I did a bit of research. At its most basic, With 0% balance factor counts the bottom half of rod the as rotating weight and the counterweight only accounts for this. With 100% balance...

David posted about welding a conn rod.....
he wanted to flip a piston to get the pin boss above deck with a window through the piston crown, this setup would make it to easily install rings and use an electric motor to turn the getup.. all to polish/prebreakin the rings
