Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?

We're a 5 car family out of town, if we went electric and the power supply will handle it we could charge all 5 overnight off street. Inner suburban dwellers without parking will be better off with ice cars. EV's will suit some people and when they become cheap and gimmicky enough they will sell. A...

Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?

85% don't make me laugh. At least in Belgium maximum 15-20%. Unlike you, I don't supply statistics without a credible source. 56.2% of the entire global population now lives in cities. The biggest change has been in Latin America and the Caribbean, with 81.2% of the population now living in urban a...

An EV, even in a city will turn out to be a bad idea all things considered.

A wet dream for the commy tree huggers, yes, absolutely.

But let them do it. It will destroy our economy and our lives.

Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?

I myself plan on leaving the EU, just as that Danish guy put his toy in Belgium (bad decision btw, there are better countries than Belgium). A number of countries are seeing educated and upper middle class people disappear. The reasons are plentifull, the restrictive attitude of the govs being one ...

Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?

I myself plan on leaving the EU, It will be easier and less costly to just move out. Just asking, where do you plan go? There are times when some of us think about leaving the USA. FWIW, former President Donald Trump is on record as saying, "We don't want immigration from those shitehole count...

Re: One cyl to rich at idle

Found it! Stupid thing that I probably did. In the EGO program the number 6 referred to the number 4 cylinder, which is why it kept on trying to correct fuel downward, but wasn't able to get anything done. So this fixed it. Hopefully others will learn something from my stupid mistake. Good it was s...

Re: One cyl to rich at idle

Although I had hoped this was it, when I put tape around the wire, it didn't help. So back to square one. BTW: did another compression test as well as put air into the cylinder and see how much/where it was blowing air, but all ok as far as I could see. Value of compression still as before. I also c...

Re: One cyl to rich at idle

Hi Tuner, Just went at it checking a variety of things. I noted that the plug wire on this cyl has damage to the insulation. Was difficult to see from the top of the engine but it's oriented to the header. The silicone type of insulation was really thin in that spot. Not sure, but could this cause t...

Re: One cyl to rich at idle

I've been thinking the same thing, but so far I've not found anything out of order and I've compared current ECU setup with previous ones that I know where good and nothing out of the ordinary popped up either. FYI: when looking at the logs again, it seems that upon startup and cold engine the diffe...

Re: One cyl to rich at idle

Hi Tuner, the ecu calculates the amount of fuel required per injection. For the offending cyl it reduces the length of injection with about 40% to get to stoich. It turns out that the actual open time after that correction is comparable to the rest of the cyls. Thus if the cyl runs stoich after the ...

Re: One cyl to rich at idle

I measured them with a similar devise but with the cone rubber to insert into the stacks. Since the engine ran prior to the rebuild I haven't touched the butterflies. I'm afraid to run it like this. The ecu pulls like 40% of fuel from that one cyl. That would be like the ecu would command 4,52 ms of ...

Re: One cyl to rich at idle

I just made a couple of checks. So when the ECU pulls fuel from 6, the PW for example for a number 1 is 3.197 ms and for the number 6 it is 3.222 ms. This was still on the old injector.... So fuel balance is within the same range when the ecu corrects it which is consistent with the fact that I meas...
