Re: Weingartner Test Dual Plane Intakes

I can tell you this about the 2101 it sucks over the old Performer for the SBC back in the 80's. I bought a the 2101 when people said it made more power, took off my old one and that car was good on the very low end but after that it was dog sheet slow so I put the old Performer back on which looke...

Re: Weingartner Test Dual Plane Intakes

Long story short. How the manifold flange area is utilized (velocity differences) and how it match to cylinder head, is what makes difference and changes the flow characteristics, ultimately massflow through the test piece i think. Just got my first dual plane manifold what im going to exam, but ca...

Re: Weingartner Test Dual Plane Intakes

I'm more interested in the loss of flow percentage wise than anything. From this kind of testing I can see that my meager 260 CFM heads are even less so and by a considerable margin. I’m curious if the flow loss percentage is a constant. The Weiand manifold flowed as much as 275cfm with Eric’s test...

Re: What does 128 mean regarding cam selection?

Wow, just saw this thread and remember when Matt (OP) was talking about going to Vizards seminar. That was a while ago, wonder what ever happened to big block fiero? he had some really strange ideas on car stuff.

Re: Victor Jr bowtie II #2972 questions

Here's mine after I did a little porting, but it looks stock compared to the work you did. Nice job. 20211011_232722.jpg Have you ran it after the modifications ? Not yet, but my buddy ran it on a dyno test and it made a pretty good jump in power over the non-ported one. Too bad he won't let me pos...

Re: 454 compression question.

I have a .030 454 with flat top pistons and peanut port heads that ran bottom 11's@118mph so I would say they would work alright.

Re: How is the aluminum new Proform Bodies?

I know the new FST 850 HP style carb I tested last fall was bad azz for me at the track, it picked up almost 3 tenths and 3mph by the end of the day over my 1000 M/D. The little pump gas 350 SBC had never lifted the front wheels, Ever until I swapped on this FST carb. Venturi diameter on the 850 FS...

Re: give me some direction BBC

I had the same thing happen on my peanut port BBC a couple of years ago and also noticed some aluminum speckles so I tore the engine down and found nothing bad on the bottom end. Turned out it was from the aluminum rockers maybe starting to fail so I swapped them over to my SS ones. Everything was g...

Re: Victor Jr bowtie II #2972 questions

It's a Vic Jr. with the the taller ports and will work good after the rework. The only thing I do not like is the flat floor on the old Vic Jr. intakes of that era.

Re: How is the aluminum new Proform Bodies?

Cannot comment on this newest version but the older version worked very well for me. Upgraded a old holley #4778 700 double pumper carb, along with the Proform billet base plate. The main jets supplied are hard to beat. On mine the primary air bleeds needed custom dialing in. A tip is to look at th...

Re: 5/64 rings

I have old school cast pistons in my 350" 345NP and E251K rings. Seen 7600 rpm daily for years. Ran many 12's and even mid 11 second passes with those pistons and rings. My block is standard bore and came from a 1969 wagon as a 300HP 350. I do not ever hone it when changing pistons or rings. I...

Re: How is the aluminum new Proform Bodies?

They look Cnced and alot more radiused entry, more like a Demon. Anyone ever flow one? Just looked at one, they do look pretty nice, not the same as my Mighty Demons at all. More like the newer Holley HP's. Have to be careful ordering it though I think as Summit and Jeg's shows the old one when you...
