the loctite 518 is very good stuff. we seal transfer case and transmission halves with it as well as head studs ect. its the only thing better than "right stuff"!!
I am putting one together right now, I am going to give the Loctite a shot.

Is this what you guys are talking about?

Did you know that you must use the SAME head gasket under the torque plate that you are going to run in the engine //

I have used permetex # 2 for 50 years never had aproblem no need to
experment with newer products I also use it on splayed main bolts in
case some go into water or any bolts that goes into the water jacket
also on intake bolts to stop seapage of oil from coming out. I have seen
teflon fail 3m weather strip adheasive fail also high tack. Try it you'll

Yes- I used the same 1003 headgaskets with the torque plate (although they were used headgaskets, but not a crapped up or anything)

I think 2-3 is enough to seal most minor leaks. Make sure its up to temp before dropping them in and drive it after.

Yes, 2-3 and make sure you crush them before adding to cooling system.

I think 3-4 for the engine, and 2-3 for the engine builder!

Will these pills work with antifreeze in the system or does it need to be straight water?

The gm tabs and bars leaks tabs are the same thing.

2-3 to seal it and the rest to sleep on. [-o<

Do these tabs have any adverse affects on aluminum heads or radiators.

No, they do not have any adverse effect. As I understand, they are vegetable based. As a matter of fact, they are mandatory after you do an overhaul of a Northstar or LQ1, 3.4-DOHC GM engines.

This is info from GM:
Organic formula designed for use in cooling system to seal leaks and prevent leaks due to porosity in engine castings.

Compatable with Dex-Cool

For use in :
1999-Current Cadillac Northstar V8- 3 Tablets
1982-1994 Cadillac 4.1L,4.5L,4.9L - 3 Tablets

Small Block Chevy- 3 Tablets
Big Block Chevy- 4 Tablets
4 & 6 Cyl. - 2 Tablets.

Note. Tablets should be thoroughly
crushed and mixed with coolant or water and added to cooling system radiator.

Car should be run and mixture allowed to thoroughly circulate. Failure to crush tablets may result in a clogged radiator or heater core.

I've been told the GM tabs are made from Rose Hips. I use 'em for MLS gaskets, bi metal motors, etc
