Darrin,

Now everyone wants to know where you work

We use a fuel which becomes exothermic just under 200F and if given enough time will heat itself up and explode. Does PO have a property like this or was the explosion more like an overheated aerosol can i.e. pressure builds simply due to external heat causing rupture and explosion.

Does PO have compression issues like nitro. For instance nitro is a very lame fuel until it gets under pressure. The more pressure applied to it, through compression and its own combustion, the more determined it is to fight back. Put it under enough pressure and it will win. Convincingly. If 99% nitro is given enough time to combust to say the 90% level, by TDC or even 20 ATDC, engine parts will be everywhere even without detonation. Add a blower and things get worse. I haven't found anything indicating that PO has properties such as this, but you have the inside track.

Bringing up an old one... Reading on kart forums and talks of P/O and vaseline or some other thick petroleum substance came up. Then the Michael waltrip incident was brought up. Anyone care to comment how long a P/O and vaseline mix would stay useful in 70degree weather? Before or after the air cleaner? Appears based on the M/W incident past the carb would be best?

M/W was using Tk7/ACES thats why NASCAR could only make an assumption as to what it was.
