Head for 4 cylinder vs. heads for V8 questions

Post by user-9274568 »

*When porting a head for a 4 cylinder, does the same formulas apply. such as CSA, DC, air speed, valve size, etc.

*Is it possible to flow too much air?

*Basically, would all the same rules apply?

Thanks Guys

No it doesn't matter how many cylinders are in the engines. all the same rules apply. as for flowing to much air? NO NO NO!! you can never heave enough cfm! just to much crossection or not enough cubic inches uner the head (displacement) good luck!

Chad,

Our friend is right for the most part, .. the ram effects might be different
depending on the carb/manifold set up, ..

did you run this through Larry's Pipemax software???
