A pretty easy thing to do is weld a piece of aluminum to the manifold. Those heads make power. At school (SAM) Dan Barton did the heads and pat Topolinski built the engine. It was a mud truck motor. At 402 inches it made 785 hp. The heads have 2.150 intake and 1.580 exhaust. The intake ports flowed 350 or so. It was 15:1 with a 283 296 on a 113. 1000 hp Braswell. I don't think that engine head the problem you are having.

Or you could bolt a strip of aluminum to the block.

It was a Super Victor with a 2 inch spacer and Braswell 1000 HP. You say your heads have "mild" port work? What is the application?

its going in a 66 nova that weighs 3000 with me in it the car has 4.56gear a powerglide with a 5500 stall and a set of28x9 slicks 1/4 mile dragstrip use. The car with a 480 horse power sbc 355 12-1 compression with a set of brodix -8 with a out of the box victor jr went 10.95 @122 the only time i took to the track in june. Im hoping the 408 will put me in the 9 second zone.

as far as mild port work these are the first heads I attempted to port i have a friend that has ported heads for years and he showed me the basics on the heads. As far as work we increased the diameter of the bowls and also increased the width of the short side radius and a paper roll of the metal around the guide

The only problem you may have to get those 9 second ET's is the little tire you have. New motor will have huge torque compared to your old 355. :D
