I have a question on solid roller lifter cam profiles vs. solid flat tappet profiles.
I am talking about large diameter solid flat tappets in the 1.125" to 1.300" range
In a phone conversation with my cam grinder he said that as far as the profile of the cam goes there is little advantage by going to a roller cam. He said that if the profile is designed for the large diameter the profile will be more aggressive than current rollers.
He also said that the added weight of the roller lifter may negate any performance gain from reduced friction.
Any thoughts?
