Bobweight for balancing of a SHO V/6 3.0 crank

Post by bill jones »

-I have a 1989 3.0 V/6 SHO Ford (Yamaha engine) that I need to have the crankshaft balanced strictly for racing.
-Can anyone give me an idea about what to do for figuring the bobweight?
--------------------------------------------------------
-I haven't seen the crank yet so I don't know how the journals are configured or if there is any external weights on the nose of the flywheel.

It depends on the bank angle of the block and if the rod journals are split or not. When you get the pieces let me know.

Bill,
My notes, IF we are talking about the same engine, show that factory 3.0 v6 was 50/100 - internal. The yamaha part threw me. You'll know more when you see it I am sure.
