push rod geometry concerns

Post by Walline »

I am working on correcting some push rod concernson a SBC, but I was wondering. Is it ok to use offset rockers without offset lifters? :?: This is my first engine with the need for offset. Any other info about offset pushrods would be great! THANKS!!

-how much offset are you talking about?
-What rocker brand and style?
-----------------------------------
-I have run some older Jesel .220" offsets without offset lifters and had no problems

rockers

I have run stud mount .150" offset rockers with standard lifters with no issues.... It was a 6500rpm engine. Not sure if problems would arise on a higher rpm engine.....

For whats it worth... I've used .750" offset on BBCs and "B" Mopars for drag use with no unusual wear. Centered lifters, Jesel and T&D rockers.
