I'm getting ready to build an engine(350) for a circle track truck. The most important rules are stock heads-no port work, flat cam and flat top piston. I really don't care what the rpm range is i will match the parts accordingly. I'm curious what the better head is for the class.
Thanks in advance
Vortec or Camels

The Vortecs are potentially much better than DoubleCamelHump heads
Vortecs can take 2.055/1.600 like #462,#461,etc, but you don't have to do anywhere near intake valve unshrouding with Vortecs
spark plug location is further in chamber, better designed chamber
no water above majority of intake port roof
can mill spring seats to 1.550 to 1.640 od easily and safely
intake and exhaust port shape is better, and can make more HP easier than #461,#462s

i like the Edelbrock Super Victor for Vortec, but not how it comes out of the box shape..needs plenum work for good flowing heads
