I think the engine will be competitive in an late model:

410CID
14 to 1
265 All Pros 23 degree
950 Gas Carb
Roller Cam

741HP @ 7200 rpm
608#/ft @ 5800 rpm
On gas
On Alky, picked up 30#/ft but no HP increase.
DTS Dyno

I cammed this thing for my customer and he wanted to spin the thing on up to 8000 rpm, but she flattens at 7200. I feel with good gear selection in a dirt late model it ougt to be a nice piece. He's not un happy but since he had $7K in the heads he figured it would make around 760HP. I think for a 23 degree engine it's pretty stout. Opinions please!!!

That sounds like a killer to me.Anything over 700hp with a 23* head is some pretty rare territory, especially something that will live in a circle track application. Sounds like a great piece to me

Those numbers aren't anything to sneeze at. Not for 23º stuff.

Care to throw the cam specs out? Might give us a better idea of where you're at.

BTW, got your PM and I'll be getting with you as soon as I get my little project off the ground. Thanks for the quick response.

For you SP2 update. :)

camshaft
266/277
.720/.651
109

The intake was killer on these heads and the exhaust was in the 67% range, thats the reasoning for the split.

The customer called yesterday and said the customer had it in the car and was trying it out on the local 2 lane blacktop. His response was "My God".

Hey, that pretty much falls in line of where I thought it should with a cam that size.

Sounds like a strong runner!
