That engine bay is sweet, there's a lot going on there the casual observer wouldn't notice. The engineers didn't waste an inch of space and you have got a lot more in there efficiently.

John Kuhn has done a great job stuffing ten pounds of shit in that five pound bag. And it actually fits with a clearance and looks nice. A case in point, the MAF sensor connectors have the required good clearance for the engine to rock and roll on the motor mounts:Roundybout wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 8:03 pm That engine bay is sweet, there's a lot going on there the casual observer wouldn't notice. Beautifully engineered with workmanship of the highest order - - I trust any further challenges will be limited to scraping the figurine off the intake pipework - - thanks for posting such a challenging project

Re: Dyno result for the risky business Porsche
Everybody involved with the project is working a day job and/or bootstrapping a startup or owning a chunk of a company, so progress is slow for obvious reasons. For equally obvious reasons, the project will never finish as it’s just a hobby science experiment that will march from one bottle neck to another. But it’ll get driven a bunch this summer and fall before going to pieces again.Leftcoaster wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 9:29 amBeautifully engineered with workmanship of the highest order - - I trust any further challenges will be limited to scraping the figurine off the intake pipework - - thanks for posting such a challenging project

Drivable again, about four weeks of part-time work left to get it completely buttoned up:

Re: Dyno result for the risky business Porsche
Here's the mass flow per side from the tests last year, just found the graph. Even with the old box, the sides flowed pretty symmetrically and in the right direction:vannik wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 1:56 am That is interesting, as well as the change to a Y-connection. I see in the simulation of this setup that with the junction box it is very difficult at lower rpm values to speed up both turbochargers because one has enough capacity to generate the required boost. Then the wastegates open to control the boost from one turbocharger and the other one does not speed up. It can even see reverse flow. The Y-junction goes a long way in resolving this but also where you get the wastegate control signal from is important. I know it is "only" a simulation but it seems to point at what is being done now.

Strapped on the dyno and back to tuning after a year of detour with the transmission:

Has the seal stayed in place on the tranny?

Re: Dyno result for the risky business Porsche
Yes. No more “tranny surprises” when it’s gotten hot and heavy.

Continuing shakedowns and tuning on pump gas. This is a 16 psi run, giving about 715 rwhp:
