Did you check over on the turboforums yet? Might find some info there?

Use someone like CSU carbs for your blow thru carb. It also requires a boost referenced fuel regulator. It's pretty straight forward other than those two things.

This site was mentioned, mostly a blowthrough site;

http://www.theturboforums.com/

There are a number of exh manifolds that were used on various blowthrough and drawthrough 231s over the years. Those manifolds might be an easy way to go on a custom turbo setup in the jeep chassis.

Note that GM used oddball specific to the car turbochargers on all of their turbo'd buicks and Pontiacs. So, it is more difficult and costly to upgrade the turbochargers. Even the non IC'd efi's buicks use different parts than the later IC'd cars. Turbo'd 231s were used on fwd rivieras too. Iirc, most were carb'd, but there may've been efi'd urbo'd rivieras in the early 80s. I'm not sure how the exh routings compared vs the rwd cars, but iirc, the compressor and turbine housings were different, vs the housings from rwd setups, on at least some fwd setups.

Some info on the factory efi'd cars' setups;

I know you are looking blowthrough, and I might get flamed, but if his power goals are moderate, a drawthrough setup from a '78-'82 carb'd 231 would be quite simple, and water/meth would allow higher boost. I'm not trying to start a drawthough bashing thread. I only mention this in case you didn't know about these setups.

Note that the drawthrough 301 transams had a system that looked much like the 231's but they don't share any parts. The 301 turbo was more of a T04, although like all the others, the wheels, housings, etc were not std Garrett stuff. The wheel in the 301 compressor is *somewhere* near a T04B V trim, afaik, the compressor on the 231s is much smaller. Iirc, the 301 and early carb'd 231s used a .8x turbine A/R, the later carb'd and efi'd had a .63 A/R. Iirc, the later carb'd 231's setup's turbine hsg is marked .63.

p.s. - if you are interested in the old OEM stuff, I have a bunch of printed matter on them, including old articles on hopups on those old drawthroughs.

I'm baffled as to why anyone would try to do a blow through carb. Get the Vortech carb box and be done with it.

This is my twin draw thru home fabbed Pontiac built about 15 years ago. Runs pretty well for the junkyard tech available back then...
