Welded stroker cranks.
Who would you recommend to perform a welded stroker crank for a forged AMC crank?

You can not paint all weldded stroker cranks with the same wide brush ... some people actually know what they are doing and some people just think they do.SKeown wrote:Who would you recommend to perform a welded stroker crank for a forged AMC crank?

I thought Indy Cyl. Head was supposed to be making different stroke AMC cranks other than the 4.15 and 4 " that they sell! It's easy to offset grind 401 crank to 3.8" and have a 2.1" crank pin and use just about any SBC rod length you can 5.85," -6", 6.1 etc...then narrow sbc rod BE width a little to get side clearence that you desire.I have some NOS 1970 390 cranks in unopened factory boxes.

The Engine Masters rules require original std journal diameters, not reduced by offset grinding.amc fan wrote:I thought Indy Cyl. I did not know you were running E M ! Good luck to you! It would be nice to see AMC represented. Parts for AMC's are really dwindling. Good cranks and blocks are getting hard to find !

It CAN be a 343, 360 journal 2.095" which is actually smaller than the 2.100" small block Chevrolet.SKeown wrote:The Engine Masters rules require original std journal diameters, not reduced by offset grinding.amc fan wrote:I thought Indy Cyl. Though, because it can not be a billet, It would still require some welding to get a factory 401 crank to the 4" stroke.

How about welding up a stock cast Nodular Iron BBC crank and offset grinding it to increase it's stroke??

I just read on Yelp that someone had trouble contacting them. I vistied their shop in the past 6 months and some of the businesses
had been closed by the State of California because of the widening of I-5 up through that area. It is possible, though not certain
that they may have had to relocate.
Both they and Marine Crank are the go to shops for specialized crankshaft service and repair.
