Good thing they are high port Exh,as those round floor ports are a full on nightmare other wise on a running motor no less on a flow bench!

The expansion rate from the throat on out is just too much and too fast.

I took this pic a few years ago to reveal the difference between a 3v 185 CHI port location vs 2v location. That tiny little turd port cranked out 564hp on a 383 Cleveland.

These power numbers sound right for that level of compression and int and Exh flow!

The Cleveland head and the exh have been the topic of many forums. It is interesting to hear the many different views on what seems to be a lazy flowing exh number. Ive heard everything from changing to hi-port to leave it mostly alone. There has to be a engineer or two still alive that worked on those heads that can shed some light on what their theory was on that head. Even on untouched form they have made impressive numbers that leave engine guys wondering why they work. 500hp is basically a walk in park for a stock head. What is the highest hp you have seen on un modified head?

I was waiting to see if TrickFlow would be offering a better 351 4V head over there crap 2V version(i really expected better from them), disappointingly looks like they stopped making there heads/intakes along with AFD.

Overpriced garbage.
By the time you fix them you’ll have more in them than a decent set of CHI’s.
