You cant have your cake and eat it too lol The cam grind you are looking for is called a V6 or a V8 or maybe if you are lucky you can find a marine 3.7 4 cyl
Re: 99 s10 2.2 performance cam recomendations
Call Crane cams and ask them if they'll cut the HMV260H-2 grind on your 4-cylinder. The valvetrain and cylinder head design is very similar, it should work just as well for you.
You will need to have your ECU tuned afterwards though, changing the cam affects every part of the engine-lifters, pushrods, intake, exhaust, fueling requirements, etc.

valve train and cylinder are similar to what? a Chevy V8 no help there, no comparison
Have you looked at a turbo 2.2?
you might want to start with the 2000-2002 as a base
or do the bolt in V6 swap

call delta cams in Washington they will most likely be able to regrind your stock cam for 80$ tell them you want an RV grind. They have fast turn around.

They reground my '01 4.3 roller cam for $67! They had a number of lobes, but I chose 203/207 at .050", and the lift was higher than stock. It runs well, no codes, no re-tune. Although, I will say that with the converter locked in 4th, chugging down below 2000, it ran better with stock grind. On the 2.2, I had one of those too, a '95. It always rattled at part throttle. I freshened it. Measured CR stock was 8.9-1. The quench was .073". I cut the block for .045". Ran better, no ping.

Do fix the quench
hard to make it run better if you do not
sounds like you need similar to stock duration and more lift
free up the exhaust

Turns out the 2.2 is a hydraulic roller, and Crane does have 5 different grinds for them.
I was comparing the valvetrain and ports to the 3100 and 3400 V6 engines.
I am sure Delta Camshaft has good grinds for them as well.

Re: 99 s10 2.2 performance cam recomendations
I know I'm late to the party but I'm here seeking guidance and information. I've got a 1999 Chevy S10 2.2 L two-wheel drive five-speed manual transmission stock motor base pickup nothing fancy. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a good RV type cam. I believe these engines come from the factory stock at 120 horsepower if I could get 180 to 200 horsepower out of a rebuild with a better cam, chips and module stage 2, a spacer on the throttle body, stage 2 cam or RV type cam and getting rid of the horrible factory air box system. Does anyone know the valve lash on these motors? Also what are the valve sizes and can the head be cut to allow for bigger valves? I know a bunch about small block Chevy but nothing about these so it's going to be new for me. Does anyone have a recommendation also for rebuild kits who makes the best gaskets and stuff in a kit form I don't want some Chinese crap do it right the first time you don't have to do it twice. I'm new to this page also so thanks for letting me on.
