hooker muffler 002.JPG
hi guys, just looking for some feedback on hooker aero chamber 3'' centre to centre muffler, they were given to me for a job i did for a mate.are they a good performance muffler, application - 383 sbc pumpgas streeter 530 hp,high ten second runner,i previously used junk mufflers and dropped pipes at the digs but want to run full street trim full exhaust,i am assuming because they are straight through they will be loud? i only run dump exhaust to front of diff (utility),i have read recently hear where some guys are talking alot of power left on the table because of junk mufflers, thanks for all feedback in advance

I've used them in the past. They aren't very loud and didn't seem to hinder flow at all.
Swapped over to Flowmaster full race bullet mufflers and picked up nothing.

I've run them on three different vehicles of varying performance levels and I really like them. They can get pretty snotty without a crossover but sound great. I too saw no difference between the mufflers and an open system on a 480 hp 383.

I like the aerochambers, I like them ganged so the engine doesn't even see them, I like their sound and anti reversion design, I don't like welding with 20+ year old welding rods!

I have a 3" in/out aerochamber on a turbo 3.5 V6, I think it sounds pretty good.

Sounds like your timing is a bit off on that 3.5l.

I'm sure it's way off, that was the very first start of the car... ported heads, big cam, custom upper intake, the list goes on. I need to get start working on that car again...

I use them on my 68 AMX and they sound awesome and the car runs good ! I have 3" offset in.... center out... to clear my sub frame connectors and ladder bar attachments.
