The ring depth tool is likely doable. Goodson sells something like it.
I don't hold much hope for the crank turning tool to hold up but feel free to prove me wrong.
PS: the crank tool looks off or it's one of those optical illusion tools.

Yeah, I also feel the crank tool might shatter in the first use but hey... It's all for learning purposes anyway
It's also a bit longer than it needs to be.. I haven't put the final depth to it yet because I haven't been home to measure the crank snout.. That's probably why it looks a bit off?
I'm slowly working on the ring depth tool... Whenever I have time

Not really an "assembly" tool but flow bench fixtures will save you a ton of $$.

Re: 3D Printing - Cool Assembly Tools?
We've been making some things on a as-needed basis on our printer, some engine building tools, some replacement parts for vintage cars that can't be sourced anymore....
Our current adjustable ring squaring tool:
I have a version 3.0 in mind, just need the time to design it up, should be really cool and much faster.

Cool, but for v. 3.1 you could get by with only one adjustable arm.

Re: 3D Printing - Cool Assembly Tools?
You're going to have a difficult time printing that design in one piece with FDM because of the overhang. Consider making it in two pieces ... upside down ... then using superglue to attach the handle.
BTW, we've been running a Weber intake manifold, printed in nylon, on a vintage Alfa race car for two seasons now. Here's the test print for the front half.
A little chip guard and silver paint and it looks like a good aluminum
casting.

That's very interesting! Are you doing anything to support the weight of the carburetors?
Re: 3D Printing - Cool Assembly Tools?
The carbs have a rubber bushed support rod, but the typical soft mounts between carbs and manifold aren't needed.
BTW, I printed a couple ring squaring tools today. Thanks to whoever suggested that ... great idea.

I've been too chicken to do even a printed nylon intake manifold so I went down the investment cast PLA route.
I really really like whoever brought up the bridgeport Z axis adapter, going to be doing one of those shortly now.

Re: 3D Printing - Cool Assembly Tools?
that subject was a few years ago, but as for printing that design...not an issue at all. I have printed several in one piece, and been using them for years. if I were smarter I would have done the adjustable one though...instead of printing 4 different fixed sizes LOL.

My son printed this for me. He’s a senior in high school. He’s got a cad program that was given to him by a teacher, and he has been learning how to use it, comes in handy for their robotics team. Aeronautical engineer is going to be his major. I’m so proud of him! He’s going to college on a full ride scholarship with the Air Force.
