Recut 60 degree throat cut and slight polish on ssr. Slight gains.

Removed boat tail. This will be very thin and not accepable for racing or street use. Just looking for flow gains. Bob took lots of metal out of the roof to make the boat tail.

Re: Ported Chevy 049 heads
Since my gains on these heads are zero I decided to increase the bowl ratio and see if that helped. It didn't.

I decided to take a good amount of material from the cylinder wall side of each intake and exhaust port looking for gains.

Re: Ported Chevy 049 heads
From what I have read you have a 45-60-75. What is your top angle?
Do you have a backcut on the valve? Very interesting, thanks for the pictures.

Re: Ported Chevy 049 heads
Bob did a 30 - 45 - 60 valve job. I added a 75 throat cut and lost flow so recut the 60 and shrank the 45. It was a bit wide anyway. The valves are Bob's as well and look like no back cuts.Old School wrote:From what I have read you have a 45-60-75. What is your top angle?
