Joe,
Winberg Crankshafts does, click here: http://winbergcrankshafts.com/index.php ... y-forging/

I'm also certain that Bryant Crankshafts is too, click here: http://bryantracing.com/products/chevy-2/

Hi Joe, Eagle has a few with that stroke, am assuming you are talking SBC here?

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. Not sure exactly what you need but they have a few to choose from, lightweight (Honda or 2.100" journals), featherweight (Honda journals), standard, 1-pc or 2 pc rear main seals also??

Joe,

I don't think there are any, "shelf", 400 main, 3" stroked 2-piece rear seal SBC cranks.

I did check around and got one price for a full-on custom crank at like $4,000 or so and I liked ta coughed!!

I recently bought an Eagle Part Number, 435030005700 2-piece rear seal large journal 3" crank that I am going to install in a 400 block by using Clevite spacer bearings. I think they gave me an, "ESP", finished one because it is beautiful. Shines like a, "dime in a goats ass!!"...

Way overkill at up to 1500 hp, but there just aren't many out there, imho that sell for a decent price.

Talk to Summit or direct with Eagle....

Also bought Eagles, "cheap", SIR 6.25" long I-Beam rods. PN SIR6250BBLW. I am not going to race my engine so they will be fine because I am not going to run a, "power adder"... You know, just a 10 to 1 CR Sat. afternoon tire burner is all sorta engine. Rpm the hell outta her though every so often just for grins..

OK..

"I recently bought an Eagle Part Number, 435030005700 2-piece rear seal large journal 3" crank".

Good to 1500 hp per Eagle's cat..

Ah, good ol' 3.00" stroke SBC. Almost unlimited RPM potential with the right stuff . . . . . .

I don't think that it is the hp as much as it is the rpm... Cast crank, balanced say ran at 5,500 rpm should last a long time! You kick it up to 7,000+ rpm and not so long!

I do know that my old, "UNBALANCED", junk301 that was put together with junk parts would go to 7,500+ rpm and I never worried about it.

And it had a stock forged '55, 265 crank in an unbalanced wore out early, small journal 327 block engine. I gathered up a set of wider beamed 283/327 rods because I was afraid to run the 265 rods. BUT I do figure that it was only putting out like 325 to 340 hp!!

I could tell my rpm's by the harmonics going up and down because it went through three of them and I could tell by the sound!

Now my new 325" engine is being built to hit 8,000+ rpm just for the fun of it. Hopefully 500hp+??

Joe,

If I may ask, what are you thinking about building/going to build?

May I tag along on this?

The little 3" stroke SBC engines do rpm.

I wanted a 400 main, 3" stroke crank, but can't afford one....
