Sealing rocker stud into runner

What does everyone use to seal their studs that go into the intake runners? I've used permatex thread sealant but recently pulled apart some heads and it seemed that maybe it was still seeping some and now I'm just considering some black Teflon style tape HD carries(torque reduced of course).

I have always used the ultra Blue stuff without issue, but good old Teflon tape should do it also!

I've used no2 and a RTV that holds up to oil. Both seemed to work fine,torque the studs.

I could see blue loctite working but i wouldn't be able to allow myself to use red in an aluminum head.

X2 I also use this on Chevy head bolts/studs, Chevy water pump bolts, etc

best sealer for anything that goes into the water jacket and even the expansion plugs in the block

I think I have had the same tube of Permatex #2 for 30+ years and always use it on rocker studs. But lets face it, it is awful stuff to get off your hands

Yep. And that's about the *only* use I've found for that nasty stuff... I've been using the same tube for thirty years now.

I use copper plus on rocker studs and this nasty brush on black stuff for head studs and bolts going into water. https://www.permatex.com/products/gaske ... -liquid-3/

I notice it doesn't say gasoline? "Economical general-purpose fitting sealant. Outperforms tapes and pipe dopes. Seals and resists pressure in air, oil, diesel fuel and hydraulic systems. Remains pliable at higher and lower temperatures. Temperature range -65°F to 300°F (-54°C to 149°C); resists common shop fluids."

VS the brush stuff.

Slow-drying, non-hardening brush-top sealant approved for use in aviation as well as automotive applications. Temperature range -65°F to 400°F (-54°C to 204°C); resists gasoline, oil and grease.

Yah noticed back when I 1st used it and just assumed because of diesel it'd be fine.

I use red loctite on many fasteners, I don't seem to have any problem removing them either. However, if I really want to seal threads from leaking fluids, I use loctite 515. It will seal high pressure (success at 500 psi) at fairly high temps. (Near 300 f) it does cure quickly and requires some effort to disassemble
