Bigger cam push peaks up 200-300 rpm and spreading lobe centres will probably carry power past peak nicely,
If I remember last dyno session your engine peaks at 7500 rpm more than likely peak 7700-7800
What are your thoughts on hydraulic lifters, will they handle the extra rpm??
I am trying to remember if you revved engine to 8000 rpm last dyno session

Is one of them speced with flowZ ?

Here's a thread you may want to read before ordering a 3rd cam. Talk of pros n cons of using flowZ to spec cams.

I pulled it to 7700 a couple times, that's the highest it's been. It was peaking at 7500 with vacuum on it so I went to 7700 to try and find peak, with no vacuum on it after the pump broke..it was down a few hundred rpms, lower 7000ish peak...the horsepower is very flat up there so where it finds peak from pull to pull can seem a little random.

I feel the valvetrain will sound good to 8000, but I know from messing with hydraulic rollers...they don't give you much warning before they stop sounding good . The question is, even if it sounds fine..how much of my cam lobes are the valves actually seeing? ….I'm not expecting to see much from the cam swap, I'm guessing a little better here, a little worse there.

It's not giving up any power with RPM so I would guess the valve train is pretty stable. Would it be better with solid rollers? Only testing would tell.

i watched the dyno run several times
i seen 770 hp and 8400 rpm,might not be what is on the sheets but thats what i seen on Joes console.
for 360 ci i am blown away at the moment.
hydraulic cam,cast crank and rods,stock rockers,factory heads.

i also seen 560 ft/LBS @ 6009rpm
560/376 = 1.48 FT/LBS per ci

i am looking forward to Chads opinion on the cam change,
averages below and above peaks,its a beast for sure.
Tony Knight mentioned last year on a hydraulic roller he was gaining rpm where the lifter was remaining stable,running a hydraulic above 8000 is very impressive.

Well, been looking everything over. Cam 2 is a better cam...in this engine anyway. It's down a bit or equal to cam 1 below 6200 but is better after that. It is 10 or 15 better on average after 7000...and is smoother, more consistent up there. It appears to keep the valvetrain more stable. Same lobe families, so think about that one for a minute.

We did a few pulls on Q16, and the pull on the videos was one of those. The best pull on Q was 763hp and 560 torque, I'm not convinced at all that it has peaked yet. The best pull on the Late model plus fuel was 758hp and 550 torque. Just noticed, I have 59 pulls on this thing already

New vacuum pump seems fine, the Schumann ER oil pump system did not change the oil pressure issue in any way that I can tell...other theories are evolving So that was a bit upsetting. Probably won't be the last 500.00 I will light on fire

Biggest hp gains from the 2 day session.... the decision to turn the engine higher.
