This guy has put a lot of time and testing into his method. A few AMA supersport and superbike engine builders I knew back in the day used it with success. The main idea is to build a lot of cylinder pressure as soon as possible.
Who is that guy? What's his name? I've seen that passed around the internet for a decade or more and still don't know of anyone who actually knows who "motoman" is.

I'm not a pro either, I vary it between 3 and 4K with a load...once the oil is about 200 ,I check timing again , change the filter and if the fuel is good I let it rip.

He is right about giving it the throttle early on..

I disagree with him on the part about all cylinders are honed very fine now,, not true

Most rings I use lately are very narrow and small radial dimensions, 1mm or less,, and low or ultra low 2mm oil. Similar to bikes

They require a fairly rough final hone.. CP specifically says they will not seat with a fine hone... I don't have the specs right now but I will post a pic. It's surprising how rough they want it

I think he’s talking specifically about bike engines. Not sure though. I’ll defer to your experience, I’m sure you have more.

Could be, he mentions the different types of bike liners but not cast iron.

I can remember in the early 1970's when my father put me in a racing go-kart and we would put a NEW McCullogh <(may not be spelled correct) 99cc 2 cycle engine on the kart he would have me go out and WOT to slowing down over and over for about 2-3 minutes and the goal was to cause the most possible cylinder pressure as GRTfast has wrote.
