Sounds good, what time are you there till on sat morning?

The original GT350 balancers were simply the HiPo 289 ( thick with a bevel on the back side. The R model used the same dampmer but they were sent to Traco to get 360* marking added to them. The casting number in the center should say C50E .

Almost done, just have to fit up ancillaries next week & fix up a small crank in a rocker cover that opened up when I pulled them down.

Blower should be here in a week and a half, on the dyno in 2-3 weeks roughly.

Something about this thread takes me straight back to the 70's, I had Ed Pink do a set of small block ford heads for me on a similar project. I went out to my garage and found the letter he sent me as a quote for the work. Amazed I still have it after all these years...

Yes its a beveled back 289 hi-po balancer.
This thing will be a hoot to drive. A great mix of originality and a practical streeter. One happy owner coming up!

The engine guys at Shelby's milled a 1/4" oval joining the left and right sides. They were the only ones that did it. I made a 1/4" spacer that was cut like that and didn't see any improvement.

Yeah, all I did was drop the divider between banks about 3/8" so each plane can draw from both sides of the carb, will help a little up top, but not a huge difference.

I can see dropping the divider to pull from all four barrels. Thanks, Charlie

There could be another reason for modding the manifold rather than using a spacer such as height or looks etc.
