Strikes me as "stirring making the tea sweet, not the sugar".

Too much time, money, effort, and enthusiasm being wasted on nothing important. A bazillion engines every day get fired-up without being pressure pre-lubed.

I’ve thought long ago but never got around to doing it.

An elec pump T’d into the oil filter adapter and a Merphy switch such that the pump comes on with the key near immediately pressurizing the oil system to a minimum psi. Crank and start and as the engine oil pressure rises the Merphy turns off the electri pump.

Relatively modest insurance for any expensive toy.

Gday,
That is exactly as 90% of the large earthmoving equipment i work on are set up.
There is good documentation out there as to the increase in engine life by doing this.
Cheers

Can you describe in more detail what you did?

I know some people have used similar tanks in combination with pre-oiler cylinders so that the full stroke of the piston is supplying high pressure oil.
