Are u flowzin the base+ head with a generous radius (putty) at the base inlet? Great thread.
Are you serious right now? Flowzin? JHC, this is getting idiotic and downright stupid.

This is what you want to leave as Don's legacy? A forum full of bs that no outsider understands? A place where information is no longer shared because only a select few understand what is even being said? Sounds like just the opposite of what Don't created this place for.

I took a few string pics flowing through head, base and stubby Slp runner. You may see now why I shaped the runner like a D exhaust best I could with available metal. The shorter string shows how the air has trouble sticking to the back wall. Thanks, Charlie

Thanks, Kenny. I think they still have identical ports.

The bowl is smaller cause of the smaller 1.84" in valve on those. Other than that the intake port should be the same. The 081 is also a workable start point for porting and bigger valves.
The smaller chamber allows for even more die grinder creativity. Carnut is good at this.
Lots of these (081, 083,217…) heads got swapped out for aftermarket stuff.

Side lined with an ls1 project but I spent some time finalizing the guides and valve job on the 083's.

This is how it is going to be flow sheet. Left is intake port with 1204 radius, middle is exhaust and notes @.5" lift with 1 5/8" tube and 1 7/8" tube. Far right whole mess bolted to the bench, bbk throttle body, Slp cut up runners on cylinder #1 with ported base and plenum. Thanks, Charlie

Nice job and report. Will be great to see these run on a engine with the Modded TPI and other induction systems.

Great work and thanks for sharing your data. I'm looking forward to seeing the dyno on your 350. I'm playing with somewhat of the same thing. But wanting to keep the numbers matching engine, I stayed with the little 3.735 engine. It also has to pass California smog laws. So what I did, 3.766X3.750
9.7to1, 1.5 1.5 3MM, 1600 bob weight,, Crane Legal H Roller 214 220 112 .450.460 will add 1.6 rockers. lower Edelbrock with EGR, SLP runners they look stock, ported upper. I think I will port my throttle body, like yours. I don't think it needs more than 600cfm.,Trickflow 175 Smog legal heads, Hooker shorty Smog headers, Dual Magnaflow Cats and Exhaust system. I'm planning on putting it on the Dyno. If it makes 300HP @5200 and 370 FTLBS. I will be Super happy. 89 IROC Five Speed, 342 Gears. Should run 13.50s, but feel like 12s with those long runners:)

What did your throat % ending up being?

Maybe it's an optical illusion but that long wall looks like it really necks down in size just under the bottom cut....dont look much different than the original shape .

It is a small exhaust port but works pretty well. Thanks, Charlie
