Just curious to see if anyone has actually used these things and what the results were? I know they arent some high hp/high rpm reputation builders but I think they would be really cool on someones lightly modded old school cruiser. Especially someone that want's a period correct appearing build that provides a little more seat of the pants thrill. They may even break a few hearts in a friendly bet, which would be fun. I can imagine a set of these on a 383 with a dual plane putting out 485hp with a decent HR. Painted Chevy orange of course.

I imagine the port to be same or similar to the tfs 175 aluminum heads they sell for small bore motors. Seen a 334” stroker 305 with them and a dual plane make 384 hp with a baby 214/220 .440/.460 hyd roller

The good ol 305... Not bad numbers at all really for 3.736" inches of bore. Now wheres that 3/4" race cam?
Ok. Enough with the cliche lines... What do you think a ported set of these would be worth on a 383. I am totally a sucker for this nostalgia stuff that is just for fun.
You could get what? 195cc MAYBE out of the runners.... Prob flow in the 280 range?? I have high hopes. That combustion chamber is a small on though, and I like flat tops on an NA street car.

Just found the flow numbers. 250's @ .600 - No CNC program available. Called TF and asked if they had anything bigger for the stroker guys... Nothing as of yet. Id like to see these in 195-205cc and a 64cc chamber. The rep said hes had more calls for people asking if they made them with SMALLER valves. I guess the 283 and 305 guys are looking for some love.

383 cid and 250 cfm heads should get ya 485 hp very easy if you want to run atleast .550" lift, if your not inclined to run that much lift then you need to root around to get 270 cfm from those heads.
For my Dollar I would go for a set of AFR or the Edelbrock e heads.

Indeed sir. This looks like one of those "dreams" where I think of how cool it would be to do a nostalgic build that moves out ok until I get the bill and realize that for not much more I could be a lot quicker. I am still interested in knowing what a set of these in the right hands could do.... That being said, how do you get past the 60cc chamber on a 383 without using dished pistons? Doesn't look promising. Other than a small chamber perhaps limiting flow numbers some on larger bores, i dont see any issues to running a dish piston. Gm used slight dish pistons in thirdgen fbodys and vette sbc’s. Perhaps others. I used them in my turbo sbc as well with no issueThat being said, how do you get past the 60cc chamber on a 383 without using dished pistons? Doesn't look promising. I reason with some effort and a 2.05” valve. A 195cc runner 550+ Hp could be done and painted orange wirh double humps would be so cool

I helped a guy out with a 1966 corvette 327 300 HP car. Engine needed a rebuild his stock heads needed a lot of work. Got him to use these heads on the 327 with a mild isky 270/280 mega cam isky 205 valve spings and edelbrock EPS intake. Along with an old single point distributor Just shifting it at 5600 rpm or so it surprised him and me. I would not be surprised if these heads added at least 45 - 50 HP at the crank over old double humps heads alone. I think these heads wonderful on nostalgia type projects and old school type cruiser engines.

I have a set on a .040 over Chevy II 327 in a 66 Nova. 10.3:1. Hydraulic roller. 273/223 278/225 .544/.525 lift. 1967 Z28 intake with a Holley 600 double pumper. 1 5/8 headers. Muncie 4 speed and a 12 bolt Moser with 3.73:1
Cant tell you how happy I am with it. Small engine, relatively short cam with good lift, good flowing heads with a small runner. Decent compression and its a ton of fun. Smokes my 245/60/15 street tires at will.
