Straub has a cnc program for them.I have one on the bench that we have piddled and whittled. It does 301@.750 lift.I think in near future we will try bigger intake valve and smaller exhaust.I have alum rod 4.145 bore x 3.562 stroke deal laying in corner that would be a fun 8000 rpm clutch shifted street/strip car with old head look.RobZ28 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 12:05 pm Just found the flow numbers. 250's @ .600 - No CNC program available. Called TF and asked if they had anything bigger for the stroker guys... Nothing as of yet. Id like to see these in 195-205cc and a 64cc chamber. The rep said hes had more calls for people asking if they made them with SMALLER valves. I guess the 283 and 305 guys are looking for some love.

Don't knock those little 305's. I remember in 1983 Popular Hot Rodding did an article on a 5.0 Mustang vs a 5.0 Camaro Z/28. Both got mods and the Camaro was the winner with a 12.90 The 305 had a Performer on it with a 650 dp Holley, headers and a 292H comp cam. The thing I guess went pretty good until they tried to run the 305 up to 7K and pulled a piston pin out of the bottom of one of the pistons, oops. The best the mustang could go was low 13's. A good 305 these day with the 305 Vortec heads would be a little screamer but I would use forged pistons for sure.RobZ28 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 11:12 am The good ol 305... Not bad numbers at all really for 3.736" inches of bore. Now wheres that 3/4" race cam?
Ok. Enough with the cliche lines... What do you think a ported set of these would be worth on a 383. I am totally a sucker for this nostalgia stuff that is just for fun.
You could get what? 195cc MAYBE out of the runners.... Prob flow in the 280 range?? I have high hopes. That combustion chamber is a small on though, and I like flat tops on an NA street car.

But all the same parts in a 350 would probably be 3-4 tenths quicker.1980RS wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 1:11 amDon't knock those little 305's. I've used them, they were ok, I just prefer a production fuelie head myself for the money spent.

I'd never run a 305 myself-but they have been 10.60s in stock, although there light. Pay attention to the Sorenson brothers F/SA 255 HP 69 Camaro, that thing is impressive!!

Re: Trick Flow 175cc "Double hump" heads.
How come? Do the aftermarket heads have some kind of significant shortcomings? Or is there a really blatant visual tell that's easy to spot if you're familiar with Chevy engines? Or something else?
Re: Trick Flow 175cc "Double hump" heads.
I'll hazard a guess that Vortecpro does his own headwork, the old fuellies survive a lot of abuse and there's still a surprisingly large number around.thecarfarmer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 11:59 pmHow come? Ignorance leads to confidence more often than knowledge does.

No short comings, fuelie heads are next to free. My latest engine build for my truck.thecarfarmer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 11:59 pmHow come? I have always done my own head work before, but on my last set of fuelies I had Larry Meaux port them.Tom68 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:39 amI'll hazard a guess that Vortecpro does his own headwork, the old fuellies survive a lot of abuse and there's still a surprisingly large number around.thecarfarmer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 11:59 pmHow come? Re: Trick Flow 175cc "Double hump" heads.
Those flow figures ought to get a 383/396 above 500hp at a decent rpm? Then you just have to find a proper stealth stock looking intake manifold to top it off?
SBC TFS Double Hump VEPR program from Straub Tech:
Flowed on a SF600 28" 4.030 Bore, no pipe on exhaust
200cc Intake Port 1.98" MCSA 2.02 Valve
80cc Exhaust Port 1.60" Valve
Lift Int. Exh.
.200 137 96
.300 205 131
.400 253 156
.500 280 173
.600 287 187

I spoke with TFS yesterday. The 200cc CNC version -new casting from the 175 the tech said. Should be on their website in a month.

My 10.8 compression, flat tappet GM fuelie/double hump headed 360 made 537 HP.crowkiller wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 6:53 pm Those flow figures ought to get a 383/396 above 500hp at a decent rpm? Then you just have to find a proper stealth stock looking intake manifold to top it off?

I want to buy a set one day for my 12/1 302-solid lifter motor. I need at least 400 hp some how
