The other part of the equation is do all gauges read the same? :)

I've got 2 testers with different length hoses and they can read 15 lbs. +
difference, depending on cu. in of the engine being tested.

I had used 29inhg and found my local reading is actually 30.5 inhg though i must admit I didn't think it would make a lot of difference if any.
If you’re using some sort of weather site or app, those numbers are corrected to sea level, and are not actual observed pressure........ unless you’re at sea level.

If you subtract about 1” pressure for each 1000’ of elevation you’re at, from the number on the weather app....... that will get you pretty close.
Somewhat handy with a die grinder.

Often you can call a local municipal airport and ask for the uncorrected baro.

My watch has a calibratable baro read out; good for helping keeping dynos honest. It's 29.30" Hg. at the moment and warm for The Great White North at 93° F. My altitude is 640'.

That watch is way smarter than I am.

Presumably the tester adds some volume which lowers the actual static CR or the transient effects are more noticeable

Where I am in Australia is 31 metres or almost 100ft above sea level so the correction factor is 0.997 and our local weather bureau gives real time readings on their website. That's how I got the 30.5 inhg figure.
As many have suggested I'm only using the calculators for guidance.
I used the 0.006" figures on the cam card for the advertised duration and IVC.

Thanks again for all the responses.
