Re: Limit of Scat Pro Stock connecting rod (SBC)
i have a friend who used them in a 383 with AFR 227 heads making 600 ish hp for a season. Ran 10.6 in a 3100 78 lemans. Was using the scat 9000 crank as well and cheap icon pistons. With 4.56 gears and 5500 stall i think he shifted it at 7000 + rpm.

Interesting why they don't rate them at RPM...

The're going to be a much better choice than 40 year old factory rods, of which countless sets have successfully run in a variety of engines similar to and even higher strung than what you are asking for. They'll be just fine, and are well matched to the value of the rest of your shortblock.

I have run them 7400 and 550hp in 3.48” cranks and
7000. 600hp 3.75”. Great rod for the money. But I would like to know their failure limit as well

I ran them rods for a year -40 passes and plenty of street driving, 7500-7600 rpm at the track, 500 hp bottom 11s @ 3650 pounds. They measured up good out of the box, and I just cycled the rod bolts a few times with stretch guage and on disassembley the bearings looked good.

645hp, 7800rpm, 3.48" stroke - good tough rods, especially for the $!
