Vertex mag

Will an autometer 9118 tach signal converter work with an old school (one wire switch to ground) vertex magneto to regular autometer tach?

Feedback from different customers indicate this works.
Might call them and chat.
I am not sure if this works for a mag with the coil internal.

Autometer also has some adapters but those seem to be hit and miss for actually working.

I think both of these might require suppression plug wires so ask about that also.

Got a response from autometer, apparently they have nothing to suit the old style magneto.

Does that mean that you have an internal coil deal and their stuff won't work or did you get a minion that does not know what a vertex is and punted?
I have a customer that has a tach on an old internal coil vertex. It kind of surprised me when I saw it. I will ask and get back to you.

I have heard good reports of the Stack Clubman tach. I have not used one myself but that is probably what we will put in our new car.

Autometer had a tach that worked many moons (30years) ago, I used it with success. The later unit I used is called a Tel Tac. They are digital, only 2 numbers (75,76,77,etc) and also record some RPM data. Used on Sprint, Midget, ect
